Welfare for All, Happiness for All - India’s AI Awakening
Today, AI Summit 2026 begins.
And here in Delhi, you don’t just hear about it - you feel it.
This year’s theme, “Welfare for All, Happiness for All,” could not be more aligned with India’s civilizational spirit. It reflects our timeless belief that progress must be inclusive and that growth must uplift everyone. And as the summit opens its doors today, Delhi itself seems to echo that message.
Over the past few days, my city has been transforming.
Driving through central Delhi, I see towering hoardings announcing AI Summit 2026. The roads leading toward Bharat Mandapam are buzzing with preparation. Media vans are lined up. Security is tight. Volunteers move with urgency. Traffic slows near the venue - not out of frustration, but anticipation.
News channels are running constant coverage. Social media feeds are filled with updates. The internet is alive with discussions about artificial intelligence, innovation, governance, and opportunity.
As a Delhiite, living here, witnessing this energy firsthand - it feels historic.
There was a time when India was casually dismissed as a “third-world country.” When the world saw us through outdated stereotypes - a “land of snake charmers,” a nation of potential but not power.
But standing in Delhi today, watching this global AI gathering unfold in my own city, I realize how far we have come.
Through bold missions like Digital India and revolutionary systems such as Unified Payments Interface, India has quietly built one of the most powerful digital infrastructures in the world. We didn’t just adopt technology - we scaled it for billions.
And now, with AI, we are stepping into leadership.
AI Summit 2026 is not just another international conference. It is a statement. It signals that India is no longer catching up - India is setting the pace.
What moves me most is what this represents for ordinary Indians.
AI in India is not just about high-end labs or billion-dollar valuations. It is about:
-
Farmers using predictive insights
-
Students accessing personalized education
-
Doctors supported by diagnostic intelligence
-
Entrepreneurs building solutions for real problems
When the theme says “Welfare for All, Happiness for All,” it is not abstract. It is practical. It is actionable. It is scalable.
And that is what makes this moment powerful.
On a personal level, my advocacy for AI has always come from a place of empowerment.
I see AI as a tool for growth - a catalyst for personal and professional transformation. In a competitive world, AI is not a luxury; it is leverage.
It enhances productivity.
It sharpens thinking.
It accelerates execution.
It democratizes opportunity.
Whether you are a student in Delhi University, a startup founder in Gurgaon, or a professional anywhere in India - AI can become your growth partner.
I firmly believe that those who learn to collaborate with AI will define the next decade. That is why I constantly encourage people around me: don’t fear this technology. Understand it. Use it. Master it. Let it amplify your ambition.
As I move through Delhi today - seeing the preparations, hearing conversations in cafés, watching the news debates - I feel something deeper than excitement.
I feel pride.
Pride that global innovators are gathering in my city.
Pride that India is being seen not as a participant, but as a pioneer.
Pride that we are proving technology can be inclusive, ethical, and impactful.
The perception of India is changing - not because we demanded it, but because we earned it.
From underestimated to indispensable.
From stereotype to strategy.
From potential to performance.
As an Indian. As a patriot. As a Delhiite witnessing this transformation up close - I feel every moment of it.
AI Summit 2026 begins today.
But India’s AI awakening has already begun.
And I am proud - deeply proud - of the nation we are becoming.
